This electronic visa, often referred to as the Uganda e-Visa, offers a convenient and efficient alternative to traditional visa application methods.
This online system allows eligible travelers to apply for and receive their visa electronically, eliminating the need to visit an embassy or consulate in person for visa application. The most common type of visa for those visiting Uganda for tourism purposes is the standard tourist visa. This visa is specifically designed to cater to individuals who wish to explore Uganda’s stunning landscapes, embark on thrilling safaris, or simply enjoy a relaxing leisure trip.
With a standard tourist visa, visitors are typically granted permission to stay in Uganda for a period of up to 90 days from the date of entry. This duration is generally sufficient for most travelers to experience the highlights of Uganda, from its diverse wildlife to its vibrant culture. Therefore, the 90-day tourist visa is perfectly suitable for those planning safaris and other leisure activities within the country.
Visa Applicants need:
- A valid passport (at least 6 months validity)

Processing usually takes 3–5 working days, but applying early is strongly advised. Travelers combining Uganda with Rwanda or Kenya may benefit from the East Africa Tourist Visa, which allows multiple-country travel on a single visa.
